Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment and Treatment
Good oral hygiene is important for the overall health of our pets.
Dental infections can negatively affect the function of the heart, liver, and kidneys. Studies have shown that pets with regular dental care live on average 2 years longer than their counterparts! We strive to offer affordable dental cleanings for our clients as part of our health and wellness program. At Riverside Animal Hospital, we offer digital dental radiology which allows us to quickly capture intraoral radiographs and detect disease hiding below the gumline. Our veterinarians have additional training in oral surgery and extensive experience in monitoring anesthesia for geriatric and critical patients. Following dental extractions or oral surgery, post-dental pain control is very important! We utilize a combination of pain medications to help your pet recover as comfortably and quickly as possible.
We perform dental cleanings under general anesthesia, 5 days a week. Please call to have your pet’s mouth evaluated. If a dental cleaning is indicated, we can provide you with an estimate. Referral to a Veterinary Dentist will be offered when indicated or if advanced dentistry techniques are needed.
