Dr. Debbie Putnam is a New Hampshire native that traveled south for her education and a warmer climate. She attended Auburn University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 1992 and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. After spending a few years practicing in the southeast, Dr Putnam and her husband, Mike Putnam, decided to move to Central Oregon to pursue other interests. Since moving to Oregon, Dr. Putnam has worked at Dove Lewis Animal Emergency Center in Portland and The Animal Emergency Center of Central Oregon where she continues to serve as the medical director. For the past year, she has been employed at Deschutes Veterinary Clinic where she has enjoyed forming relationships with clients and staff. Her special interests lie in emergency and critical care, metabolic derangements and wound care. She is excited to start a new phase of her career as owner and partner of Riverside Animal Hospital.
While not at work, Dr Putnam enjoys long runs, backpacking with her family and traveling. She has one daughter, Emma, 2 dogs named Walter and Tiny and a cat named “the Biscuit”.
Dr. Putnam sees patients on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and every third Saturday.
